About The Job ABOUT THE ROLE - Te tūranga mahi This is Permanent Position, working Tuesday - Saturday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, 40 hours per week. Come and join us in our state-of-the-art laboratory based at Mangere! We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Laboratory Technician - Sample Reception & Purchasing to be part of our fun-loving and dynamic team Quality and Food Safety team. You’ll play a critical part in ensuring laboratory samples are received, processed, tracked, and reported accurately, while also supporting the purchasing and management of laboratory consumables. Reporting to the Team Leader - Sample Reception & Purchasing you will be part of the Sample Reception & Purchasing team. You will: Receiving, registering, labelling, and distributing laboratory samples accurately and on time Applying aseptic sampling techniques across finished products, raw materials, and semi-finished goods Coordinating sample dispatch to internal and external laboratories and monitoring test progress Creating, checking, and distributing laboratory reports within agreed turnaround times Tracking sample status and communicating updates to key stakeholders Ordering laboratory consumables, managing stock levels, and processing purchase orders and invoices Maintaining laboratory documentation, records, and traceability in line with quality standards Supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and efficiency Keeping laboratory and storage areas clean, organised, and audit ready About You ABOUT YOU - Mō Koe You enjoy working in a laboratory environment and have a continuous improvement mindset and great initiative when it comes to supporting the team. To be successful in this role, you will have: Certificate or diploma in a relevant laboratory, science, or technical field At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory environment supporting sampling, sample registration, purchasing, or administration Experience working with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or similar systems A working understanding of laboratory quality standards (such as ISO‑based systems) and safe work practices Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working across teams Intermediate computer skills and a willingness to learn new tools and systems A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to continuous improvement About Us ABOUT US - Mō Mātou Do things your way.
