Marketing and Communications is the creative and marketing team for Texas Global, responsible for showcasing the University’s global engagement across campus and around the world. Through strategic storytelling, digital content, and brand management, the team supports the University’s mission and enhances its global reputation.

Purpose

Are you a creative and detail-oriented undergraduate student with a passion for social media, storytelling, and content creation? Texas Global is seeking a highly organized and motivated student to support the creation of engaging content across our digital platforms. In this role, you will create social media content from start to finish—writing captions, capturing photos and video at events, and designing graphics and short-form videos. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas for campaigns that highlight global programs, student experiences, and University initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Create social media content from start to finish, including writing captions, capturing photo and video, and designing graphics and short-form videos 
  • Attend events to capture photo and video content for real-time and future use  
  • Plan and support the execution of social media campaigns and content series  
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative concepts and storytelling ideas  
  • Maintain and organize digital assets, including photo libraries and shared files  
  • Ensure content aligns with Texas Global brand standards and messaging  
  • Support additional marketing and communications projects (including inventory management) as needed  

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience creating content for social media
  • Strong writing skills with attention to tone, grammar, and clarity
  • Basic photography and videography skills
  • Experience creating graphics and short-form video content
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry boxes weighing up to 30lbs
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
  • Experience with content planning, trend research, or campaign ideation
  • Experience using project management tools such as Asana
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools such as Hootsuite
  • Experience working in a marketing, communications, or creative environment
  • Interest in global topics or experience working with international populations

Salary Range

$12.00 an hour
