Job description

About us

We see the semiconductor industry as a realm of possibility. We see opportunity. We see the profound impact that our graphene solutions will have in transforming the industry. We invite you to join us in driving change with our fundamentally human-centered approach, uniting bright minds around a shared vision. The vision is: Prove to everybody that you can make a fundamental change. Prove with your knowledge and skills how things can be done differently. Together, we can change the paradigm of how the world connects

About our technology

The semiconductor industry’s growing demand for more powerful chips with higher bandwidth and lower power finds its solution in our technology. We connect chips to high-throughput, low-delay computing networks. The key lies in harnessing the physical properties of graphene to combine electronic computing with photonic communication, allowing countless chips to interact almost as if they were one. Our graphene photonic innovation increases computing power and efficiency to a new order of magnitude

In short, we connect chips to create powerful and energy-efficient networks, overcoming connectivity limitations in the semiconductor industry. We deliver the graphene solution

The Role

At Black Semiconductor, we are building the foundation of next-generation chip manufacturing with Fab One, our first production facility. To support this, we are looking for a qualified Elektromeister (German Master Electrician) who combines strong hands-on electrical expertise with curiosity, structure, and a drive to work in a highly innovative environment.

In this role, you will be a key part of the early team establishing the facility infrastructure of Fab One. Beyond traditional electrical work, you will also develop into the field of Facility Management Control Systems (FMCS)—covering automation, integration, and intelligent control of building systems. The FMCS scope will be developed with training.

If you enjoy understanding complex systems, solving technical problems logically, and learning how modern industrial environments are controlled and connected, this role offers a strong growth path.

To join our team, you should be excited to

  • Take on a key first-hire role in the setup and commissioning of facility infrastructure for Fab One, directly contributing to the development of building automation (FMCS) systems. This includes supporting commissioning activities, system integration, troubleshooting, and gradually building expertise in control logic and HMI systems.
  • Plan, install, maintain, and troubleshoot low- and medium-voltage electrical systems in compliance with applicable German regulations.
  • Coordinate and oversee electrical works performed by external contractors, ensuring safety, quality, and timely execution on site.
  • Diagnose faults in complex installations and control circuits, and review/approve electrical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and as-built drawings.
  • Manage electrical compliance, inspections, and testing in coordination with relevant authorities, ensuring accurate technical documentation and certification.
  • Oversee procurement and quality assurance of electrical materials and contribute to technical design reviews for both new installations and retrofit projects.
  • Work closely with facility managers, project engineers, and external contractors to deliver reliable, compliant installations on time.

Your Qualifications

  • Successfully completed Meisterprüfung im Elektrohandwerk (Elektromeister) – certified German Master Electrician (Handwerkskammer).
  • Strong practical foundation as an Elektromeister with deep expertise in electrical systems and confident troubleshooting of complex technical issues.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in industrial or commercial electrical installation and/or maintenance.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring plans.
  • Structured, analytical approach to problem-solving and fault diagnosis.
  • Initial exposure to building automation (FMCS/BMS), industrial controls, or similar systems is a strong advantage and will be further developed in this role.
  • Excellent communication skills in German (both written and spoken); professional working proficiency in English is considered a plus.
