Job description

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in our Operations, Finance, Engineering, Safety, Sales, Quality and Regulatory business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.

Accountabilities:

  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business managers.
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
  • Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management or related field: Required (combination of relevant work experience and education considered).
  • Experience supporting Manufacturing business units, light industrial and non-exempt employees.
  • Six to Eight years progressive Human Resource professional experience.
  • HR certification preferred.
  • Training in Federal, state laws and application of HR policy in a manufacturing environment and positive employee relations.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, performance management, and federal and respective employment laws.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)
  • This role will work in an office setting, however, frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards, and engage staff.
    • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
    • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
    • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
    • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.

  • May directly supervise a team of human resources or administrative professionals.
