Overview The Senior Financial Analyst is a critical role within the Finance organization. This individual will provide the essential data points needed to assist senior management in making decisions around profitability and help drive the strategic direction of the business. This will be accomplished through utilizing complex financial models to better understand the impact of macroeconomic variables on our lending and deposit products. The ability to extract and understand the interrelationships of systems and data from the Core system is a critical component of this role. They will work closely with the lines of business to provide direction with the monthly forecast and help challenge assumptions, as well as perform ad-hoc profitability analysis. As such, the ability to collaborate cross-functionally within all levels of the organization in order to obtain a wholistic view is essential. The Senior Financial Analyst will regularly participate in highly visible, strategic projects. They will support Patelco’s vision and mission, and the department’s focus on service, quality, efficiency, and teamwork. Importantly, this role is essential to Patelco’s strategic goal of crossing the next regulatory hurdle, the $10 billion threshold. Position is in-office at our Dublin,California Headquarters. Responsibilities Fundamentally, the FP&A team will utilize their technical acumen to elevate the team by providing next level analytics, dashboards, and presentations Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models for forecast, and planning processes Utilize macro-economic forecasts to perform sensitivity analysis of portfolio drivers and how portfolios are impacted by key indicators Ensure accuracy and consistency of finance and accounting reports based on knowledge of systems and GAAP reporting standards Partner with business units across the organization to provide recommendations on strategic changes to the business by utilizing summarized financial data modeling tools Lead model validation and process documentation efforts on behalf of the finance team Oversee the monthly maintenance and analysis of budget software; make recommendations regarding income and expense allocation and ensure that the GL and planning databases are in sync. Near term project includes the full implementation of the budgeting system, Empyrean. Analyze internal and external drivers of credit union performance and trends; make recommendations for alternative performance measures based on in-depth understanding of Patelco’s goals. Provide insightful commentary to executive leadership. Inspect performance-to-date metrics and assess potential risks and opportunities Identify, evaluate, and pilot emerging analytics and automation capabilities including the use of AI to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability of FP&A deliverables Improve how Finance data is managed and how reports are built (including reliable data processes and self-service dashboards) to ensure decision-ready insights across stakeholders Provide additional ad-hoc analysis as needed for departmental and/or organizational projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university with a concentration in accounting or finance. MBA or other graduate degree desirable 7+ years of experience in FP&A or finance division, preferably within the financial services industry Ability to create and manipulate SQL databases with Python to extract Core data Regular use of Empyrean and Prologue, or other planning tools and general ledger systems Ability to navigate and communicate statistical results Proficient in understanding the budgeting and forecasting process with in-depth knowledge of deposit or lending products Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills working with large volumes of data, validate, using v-lookups and pivot tables, also formatting data in a clear, presentable way Target Base Pay $131,259 / yearly Compensation at Patelco Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
