Minor Hotels are seeking a dynamic and strategic PR & Communications Manager to join our Brisbane head office team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven communications professional to take ownership of PR strategy, elevate brand visibility, and deliver impactful campaigns across a diverse portfolio.
As PR & Communications Manager, you will lead the development and execution of integrated PR strategies, manage media relationships, deliver standout events and campaigns, and ensure consistent and compelling brand storytelling across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute PR strategies aligned to brand, commercial, and corporate objectives
- Manage and maintain media databases and relationships, ensuring targeted and effective outreach
- Write and distribute high-quality press releases, media pitches, statements, and corporate communications
- Proactively secure media coverage across trade, business, and consumer outlets
- Manage media enquiries and act as a key point of contact for journalists
- Coordinate press trips, media hosting, and gifting programs to deliver strong coverage outcomes
- Monitor media coverage and industry sentiment to identify risks, opportunities, and trends
- Lead planning and execution of brand events, launches, and PR activations
- Develop engaging event concepts aligned to brand and commercial objectives
- Manage end-to-end event delivery including budgeting, suppliers, logistics, and reporting
- Oversee charity and CSR partnerships, including activation and stakeholder management
- Collaborate with internal teams and operators to deliver seamless on-property activations
- Support integrated brand and PR campaigns from concept through to execution
- Contribute to editorial planning and identify key storytelling opportunities
- Work with agency partners to deliver multi-channel communications strategies
- Lead PR execution for launches, openings, and major announcements
- Ensure consistent brand tone of voice across all communications
- Identify and manage industry award submissions and recognition opportunities
- Coordinate sponsorships and partnerships to maximise brand exposure
- Deliver regular reporting on PR performance, media coverage, and campaign outcomes
About You
- Degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in PR or communications (agency or in-house)
- Strong media relationships with a proven ability to secure coverage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in crisis communications and issue management
- Proven experience delivering integrated campaigns and events
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical mindset with experience reporting on campaign performance
- Proficiency with tools such as Telum, Meltwater, Sprout Social, and Asana
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
