Job description
Mission:
Within the durability attribute, Specialist Operative will use critical and logical approach to repair, maintain, calibrate, adjust and install the dials, sensors and other instrumentation used in Road Load Data Acquisition projects for durability assessments.
The position will be based in IDIADA's main offices in Spain involving business trips when required to visit IDIADA's Clients and Business Units.
Key Responsibilities and duties:
- Instrumentation Maintenance: Execute repairs of instrumentation and measurement equipment (accelerometers, force sensors, pressure, temperature, etc.)
- Sensor Installation on Vehicles: Collaborate in the preparation and installation of sensors on test vehicles according to technical specifications
- Strain Gauge Instrumentation: Install strain gauges following standardized procedures
- Standard Mechanical Tasks: Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly on vehicles and test benches and execute basic machining operations (drilling, threading, cutting)
- Test Support: Participate in the setup of durability tests (road, bench, track) and perform periodic verifications of instrumentation status during tests
Education: Higher Vocational Training Certificate in Electronic Maintenance, Industrial Automation and Robotics, Industrial Mechatronics, or Automotive.
Experience: As an asset 1-2 years in testing laboratories, automotive or related industry, with practical experience in vehicle instrumentation installation, strain gauges, equipment calibration, and R&D&i environments.
Technical Skills: Knowledge in basic electronics (reading diagrams, component soldering, sensor wiring), mechanics (use of tools, vehicle mechanical systems), and IT (Office suite at intermediate level).
Languages: Intermediate English for reading technical manuals and standard workshop communication. Additional languages will be a plus.
Soft Skills: Attention to detail, technical critical thinking, problem-solving capability, proactivity, adaptability, and commitment to quality and safety regulations.
Other Requirements: Type B driving license, availability for shift work and travel if necessary.
