Motional’s Las Vegas office is located less than 10 miles from the Las Vegas strip at 730 E Pilot Road and is home to one of the largest fleets of self-driving vehicles. The city’s grid system of roads and being one of America’s “smart cities” allows for extensive research and development testing.
Mission Summary:
Operations Specialists support the business to ensure the fleet is ready to be deployed and safe to operate on the roads. Communicating between teams and helping to improve utilization of resources. This role will identify gaps and assist in creating processes that improve operations around the globe. While efficiency is crucial, nothing comes before safety and the Operations Specialist is a key team member to uphold this responsibility.
Essential Duties:
- Conduct and review test cases for R&D
- Provide field support for road operations
- Support global mapping efforts
- Asset tracking of drives and ingesting data
- Support data operations and collection
- Utilize fleet management tools to support fleet operations
- Be fluent in software applications such as Jira & GSuite
- Support smart city infrastructure for internal business needs
- Utilize command center and support tele-operations
- Conduct field operations to support validation
- Work with operations, facilities, & engineering to maintain test track
- Support Legacy Fleet Readiness
- Able to perform all vehicle operator duties
- Able to travel domestically occasionally
- Additional duties assigned
Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm for the AV industry as well as safety/mobility is preferred
- Experience in the automotive industry or a fleet preferred
- Able to present in front of small-medium groups following a script
- Able to interact with touch-based presentations
- Previous experience with demos or presenting
- Exemplary organizational and time management skills
- Skilled in Microsoft/G-Suite applications including PowerPoint/Slides, Excel/Sheets, Word/Doc
- Valid driver's license required
- Minimum of at least 6 months of autonomous driving experience
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and at times for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, road conditions and pedestrian traffic. The team member is regularly exposed to mechanical and computer parts. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles. The noise level in the environment is low to moderate.
This role is based in our Las Vegas office and requires in-office days each week.
