Job description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Project Director. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of large-scale projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget parameters. You will provide strategic direction, drive operational excellence, and lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve project objectives while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Direct and oversee all phases of building projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and client expectations
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, monitoring progress against established baselines and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate project management teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities, ensuring transparent communication and issue resolution
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to minimize impact on project delivery
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor and control project costs, manage change orders, and optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency
- Prepare and present comprehensive project reports, performance metrics, and executive summaries to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all project phases
- Coordinate with PMC teams to streamline operations and enhance project delivery capabilities
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a director-level or senior management position
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale construction and building projects with budgets exceeding $50 million
- Strong knowledge of PMC organizational structures and project delivery methodologies
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent)
- Advanced skills in budget management, cost control, and financial analysis
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities with experience building and developing high-performing teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisive decisions under pressure
- Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, building codes, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Experience with contract management and vendor/supplier coordination
- Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis tools for reporting and performance tracking
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Experience working on international projects or in multicultural environments (preferred)
- Familiarity with Saudi Arabia's construction industry and regulatory environment (preferred)
