RESPONSIBILITIES What You’ll Do / Your Impact Client Partnership & Service Excellence Respond to participant and client inquiries related to COBRA, retiree, and direct billing coverage Provide clear, professional guidance on eligibility, enrollment, and billing questions Deliver empathetic and timely customer service to support positive participant experiences Operational & Compliance Excellence Process COBRA, retiree, and direct billing transactions including enrollments, terminations, premium payments, and adjustments Maintain accurate participant records within COBRA and billing platforms Support compliance with federal and state COBRA and billing regulations by following established processes Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems and reports Growth & Retention Assist in identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service workflows Support the COBRA & Billing team with administrative and operational tasks as needed Participate in training and professional development to expand technical knowledge and service capabilities QUALIFICATIONS What You Bring Required 1+ years of experience in COBRA benefits administration, billing, customer service, or a related field Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately process transactions Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Preferred Experience with COBRA, retiree, or direct billing processes Familiarity with WEX or similar COBRA administration platforms Core Competencies Client service and professional communication Data accuracy and compliance focus Process execution and problem‑solving Collaboration and teamwork Learning mindset and adaptability ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Compensation: Hourly range: $24 – $26 per hour Benefits: Alera Group offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, 401(k), generous PTO, and more.
