Position Summary:
As Cloud Engineer III at Fedex Dataworks, you will help us in setting up a global Azure/GCP infrastructure for the new FedEx data-driven e-commerce platform.
You will design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure across multiple geographical regions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery. You will be responsible for automating infrastructure deployments, optimizing network performance, and collaborating with other teams to align cloud solutions with business needs. You will also own the creation and maintenance of developer-facing boilerplates and starter repos to accelerate team onboarding and ensure consistent, repeatable deployments.
What You’ll Do:
Create and configure data processing and web application infrastructure using Cloud Agnostic tools supporting Azure and GCP. That includes setting up storage accounts, event hubs, AKS, Databricks components, gateways, databases, service accounts both on prod and non-prod environments;
Design, implement, maintain and publish reusable code templates, starter repositories, scaffolding and boilerplate infrastructure modules (IaC modules, Helm charts, sample app scaffolds) that development teams can consume out-of-the-box;
Creating and maintaining starter repos/boilerplates;
Adjust to changing requirements;
Create code snippets for other developers in company;
Add support for whatever GCP/Azure has to offer;
Document boilerplate on inside wiki;
Review infrastructure configuration and scripts created by development teams;
Ensure proper connectivity is established between specific Azure components;
Setting up and configuring CI/CD pipelines;
Ensure proper monitoring of deployed services;
Designing and building automation and orchestration solutions to speed up development teams;
Review proposed architectures, provide feedback and make sure its compliant with security standards;
Own versioning, documentation, publishing (private registries/feeds) and support for reusable modules and pipeline templates, and provide onboarding materials and sample implementations for teams.
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience;
Programming skills (such as Java, Kotlin, Node or others);
Experience in scripting languages: Bash/Python;
Four (4) years’ experience in cloud engineering or related field;
Some experience as a senior member of multi-function project teams;
Strong oral and written communication skills, English is a must;
Experience in implementing large-scale services across multi-regions;
IaC: automated infrastructure provisioning using Terraform;
Proven experience authoring reusable IaC modules (Terraform/ARM) and creating starter repos/boilerplates and pipeline templates;
Practical experience and expertise in monitoring;
Hands-on with Microservice deployment and configuration using manifest files/HELM;
Good understanding of environments strategy;
Experience in scripting languages: Bash/Python.
