Development Manager Australia

Job Summary
As our Development Manager, you will develop BESS and solar-BESS hybrid projects from concept to Ready-To-Build. You will join an existing project team and lead on the origination of new sites. Working holistically, the Development Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to secure agreements and achieve the approvals required for a successful project outcome.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Build relationships with landowners to secure new project sites and maintain all necessary contracts and agreements
• Perform desktop assessments of new green field BESS and solar-BESS hybrid opportunities including land management, planning and grid
• Lead and support the development activities for existing projects in NSW, VIC, and TAS
• Provide strategic input, advice and support to the Development team on potential risks and project feasibility
• Manage and review preliminary engineering design work and proposals while coordinating with internal engineering functions
• Establish and maintain development budgets and schedules, where necessary prioritising resources across the development portfolio

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong background in renewable energy project development in Australia with a focus on land acquisition, planning and/or grid connection
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Great understanding of prioritisation of project deliverables and driving successes across a project pipeline
• Based in Sydney or Melbourne
