Work, Play and Grow at BlackLine! Make Your Mark: BlackLine is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Statutory Reporting & Tax Accountant to join our dynamic Finance & Accounting team. The successful candidate will mainly be supporting our EMEA tax reporting and statutory compliance, ensuring adherence to local tax laws and regulations. The role requires an understanding of statutory reporting, corporate taxation, indirect taxes and compliance matters in the EMEA region. The Statutory Reporting and Tax Accountant is part of the global international tax accounting team and tasks can extend beyond the EMEA region, such as support to the US GAAP tax provisioning or support with entities based in the APAC region. You'll Get To: Key Responsibilities: Statutory reporting: Prepare monthly bookkeeping packages to external services providers and collaborate with them on local accounting books (France, Romania, Poland). Provide support for the annual statutory financial statement's compilation and statutory audits. Prepare statutory account reconciliations. Prepare intercompany journals in line with BlackLine’s transfer pricing policy. Prepare tax related journals/adjustments. Prepare statistics report filing within BL EMEA jurisdictions. Tax Compliance: Prepare monthly VAT reconciliations. Prepare periodic CIT payments. Liaise with AP/AR team on tax codes and incompliant invoices. Validate use of correct tax codes by AR and AP departments. Validate VAT compliance of invoices. Manage e-invoicing portals. Ensure PO compliance. Daily time allocation: VAT and indirect tax: 25% Statutory Accounting: 50% Ad hoc questions and project support: 20% CIT and Direct Tax: 5% Interacts with: EMEA based Senior Tax Accountant US based VP of Global Tax EMEA based International Tax Director Tax and Statutory accounting service providers US based accounting team What You'll Bring: Education: Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance Experience: Experience with statutory accounting required. Experience with an internationally oriented accounting firm or company is preferred. Experience with indirect taxes and/or direct taxes is preferred. Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite and Blackline, preferred) We’re Even More Excited If You Have: Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts to non-experts. Pragmatic team player, accurate detail oriented with a hands-on mentality.
