Primary Function of Position
You will become a member of the da Vinci® Multiport Global Product Management team helping to lead and support multiple generations of platform solutions across their lifecycle. This is an individual contributor role and will report to a Director. As an upstream strategic and product management expert, you will work with cross-functional partners to guide successful product launches and provide strategic expertise throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities for this role will be heavily focused in surgical robotic automation strategy & roadmap planning based on careful analysis of global user needs and in context of the overall DaVinci development roadmap. You will become a key development and evaluation stage stakeholder for multiple projects and will be a global system portfolio expert helping to guide future portfolio strategy recommendations and budgeting.
Essential Job Duties
In the first 12 months from start of employment, the essential job duties are:
- Create a staged and prioritized surgical automation roadmap based on customer need, value, technological feasibility, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements. Connect autonomy to the platform architecture roadmap, inclusive of viability modeling and required cross business alignment. Align a wide breadth of groups across the organization via a transparent, evidence-based process
- Provide a global market segmentation analysis supporting the market need and potential impact for each automation workstream in the roadmap
- Develop clinical and evidence generation timeline to drive regulatory approval and adoption globally and synced to the proposed global roadmap
- Propose a Product Management organizational structure to support ongoing expansion of the automation program, to be used in resource planning in 2027+
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated prior experience in essential job duties noted above
Required Education and Training
- Minimum Bachelors degree
- Minimum 4 years in a medical or health related device role with 12 or more years cumulative professional experience
- Minimum 4 years in Product Management
Working Conditions
- Must be able and willing to travel globally, participate in surgical case observations within an operating room, and meet vendor credentialing requirements to enter surgical theatres
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Professional engineering experience in highly regulated industry (example med device) preferred in software or hardware development
- Extensive prior experience in AI and automation development and global launch
- Product Management experience in Medical Device Industry
- MBA or similar experience

Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the
candidate’s qualifications, consistent with applicable law.
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target base compensation ranges are listed.
