Job description
CEDA is looking for Apprentice Pipefitters for a couple of upcoming shutdowns in the Conklin area.
What we Offer:
- Apprentice rates: 2nd Year - $35.00 3rd Year - $40.00 and 4th Year - $45.00
- Camp accommodations provided
- Shifts: working 12hrs
- Start date: May 1st, 2026
- Shutdowns expected to wrap up, Mid-June
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in Installation of new mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, air dryers, converters, heat exchangers, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, condensate tanks, recirculation pumps, booster pumps, pneumatic controls, coils, isolation valves, 3-way valves, condensate traps)
- Fit up and prepare piping requiring welded joints
- Liaise and collaborate with other trades, consultants and suppliers
- Cleans condensate traps and equipment strainers
- Provides occasional guidance to the primary function of others, including training.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Role Specifications:
- Registered Pipefitter/Steamfitter apprentice status required
- 1+ years of experience on shutdown events or long term maintenance at plant sites
- H2S Alive certificate, CSO or CSTS 2020 & Confined Space entry (ESC version) required. MUST have physical certificates onsite, no digital copies will be accepted.
- First Aid, fall arrest and AWP certifications are all considered an asset
- Class 5 driver’s license (GDL not accepted) able to provide clean 5 year abstract
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required
- Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test, booked by CEDA
