Pipefitter, Journeyman

CEDA is currently seeking 4 Journeyman Pipefitters for our Mechanical Division based out of bonnyville. This position is for camp work, so the candidate can reside outside of Bonnyville, but must have reliable transportation to site.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Install new mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, air dryers, converters, heat exchangers, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, condensate tanks, recirculation pumps, booster pumps, pneumatic controls, coils, isolation valves, 3-way valves, condensate traps)
• Fit up and prepare piping requiring welded joints
• Liaise and collaborate with other trades, consultants and suppliers
• Cleans condensate traps and equipment strainers
• Provides occasional guidance to the primary function of others, including training.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
• Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
• Thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Test system for leaks using testing equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications:

• Journeyman Pipefitter/Steamfitter (Red Seal preferred) required
• Standard first Aid, H2S, CSO, ESC Confined Space entry, ESC Fall Protection
• Receptive to change and can adapt to changing circumstances
• Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test, booked by CEDA
