Job description

AECOM is seeking a highly Texas project delivery experienced Quality Manager – Design & Construction to lead quality assurance and control efforts on major transit and infrastructure projects throughout the United States. This role is based in our Austin, TX Office. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design and construction quality management, with proven expertise on large-scale projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee project quality plans, including audit plans, throughout design and construction phases.
  • Lead quality audits, inspections, and compliance reviews in accordance with U.S. industry standards.
  • Coordinate with and provide guidance to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Report on quality metrics and performance to senior management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or advanced certification in quality or construction management is a plus.
  • 10+ years of quality management experience on large transit and infrastructure projects in the United State, Texas state project delivery experience highly preferred.
  •  American Society for Quality (ASQ) professional certifications such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) are required.
  • Deep knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 19011, AASHTO, FHWA, and FTA requirements).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Quality management success with deliveries on major projects involving transit in Texas.
  • Experience with public transit agencies or similar large infrastructure clients.
  • Experience with the design and construction of a transit Operations & Maintenance Facility.
  • Experience working with Progressive Design Build Contractors.
  • Experience working in an integrated team seconded with the client (owner’s rep).
