Why join the University of Sydney?
Join one of Australia’s leading universities at a pivotal point of change, where technology is evolving to better support student learning, empower teaching excellence, and enable research delivery at global scale.
ICT is central to delivering the University’s academic mission. Working across faculties, disciplines, and research communities, you will shape the platforms, services, and partnerships that enable student success, strengthen teaching, and accelerate research impact.
This work spans both the critical services that keep the University running every day and the ongoing improvement of systems and experiences.
With strong investment and clear direction, you’ll operate in a large and complex environment where your contribution has visible, meaningful impact across the University.
You’ll collaborate across academic and professional communities to help shape a more connected and capable University, supporting teaching excellence, research impact, and student success.
The opportunity
As Test Manager, you will lead testing across ICT releases, projects and core services, ensuring high-quality outcomes across a complex and varied technology environment.
You will also play a key role in developing and supporting a team of Test Analysts, and as the Diversity & Inclusion Lead, you’ll be focused on creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse needs can build capability, contribute with confidence and thrive.
What you’ll do
Develop test strategies, plans and objectives across ICT projects, releases and BAU activity.
Lead, coach and support a team of five Test Analysts, with a strong focus on development and inclusion.
Oversee manual and automated testing activity, resource planning, quality assurance and risk management.
Partner with technology owners, project teams, stakeholders and vendors to deliver effective testing outcomes.
Drive continuous improvement across testing practices, team capability and reporting.
What we’re looking for
Strong test management experience across complex application, systems or enterprise environments.
Must have experience leading, coaching or developing teams, ideally in operational or BAU testing settings.
Good knowledge of testing methodologies, automation, quality assurance and release delivery.
A thoughtful, inclusive leadership style with the ability to support people with varying needs.
Strong communication skills and confidence working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
