Job description

Brokerage Agent executes flawless operational performance, productivity, by applying technical expertise and providing excellent customer service, supporting our Vision and Mission Statement, making our promise real to all our customers.

Proactively monitor the following key metrics to achieve the expected results:

  • Operational Effectiveness
    • OPA Audit Result – Perform consistently at the highest level.
    • Timely Execution:
      • DXR to LOG within 3 hours.
      • LOG to ENF (2 step) within 30 minutes.
      • LOG to ESP (1 step) within 1 hour.
      • INV within 24 hours of ESP/IBB.
      • ENF to ESP within 72 hours.
      • UCE to AME within 2 days.
      • AUE – Less than 5%.
      • ADD CVD applicable back up available 100% of the time. 
      • AUE to AUA within 48 Hours. 95% compliance.
      • EDE to EDA within 5 days.
      • ESP no RLS follow up within 5-7 Days.
      • All CENSUS actioned within 72 hrs.
      • Trade Compliance - 100%.

General responsibilities:

  • Timely completion of 52-hour trainings per year (4.33 per month) and required trainings.

Key responsibilities:

  • Comply with company controls, policies, procedures.
  • Properly use all Expeditor systems and tools.
  • Maintain highest compliance levels for all applicable Customers requirements
  • Understand and comply with the expectations on Customer SOP.
  • Meet KPI Standards in accordance with the Company’s Procedures (OPS).
  • Accurate and timely shipmen process, logged proper codes, trace types and events.
  • Timely events on In-bond transactions.
  • Proactively communication with carriers and interested parties.
  • Contribute to operational effectiveness by complying with applicable District Excellence metrics.
  • Complete accurate and timely billing of customers.
  • Ensure that all customer’s legal documents are updated.
  • Active participation in huddle meetings.
  • Ensure that all emails are handled timely and professionally. 
  • Escalate issues to Lead, Supervisor or Operations Manager as needed.

Finance:

  • Comply with all our policies, including the credit policy.
  • All files processed timely and correctly billed.
  • Constantly work on prevent monetary losses.

Security, Health and Safety:

• Immediately inform the Branch’s Health and Safety representative any unsafe condition that could put  employees at risk in the workplace as well as any incident or accident.

To be the most effective in this position we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in foreign trade, preferred or equivalent convention of education and experience.
  • Experience in US Customs Brokerage, preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Customs clearance functions, preferred.
  • Customer Satisfaction oriented.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate written and oral.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with clients, service providers and employees.
  • Time management and attention to detail oriented.
  • Self-driven personality.
  • Good computer skills, and ability to learn new programs and tools including knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • English and Spanish fluency.
