Job description
We are a growing, publicly traded Midstream Energy Company based in Irving, Texas. The Tax Director will report to the VP and CAO and oversee all tax matters for the company.
Essential Job Functions:
- Federal and State tax compliance for MLP entities
- Calculation of Annual and Quarterly income tax accruals
- Oversight of K-1 review and processing
- Research and planning, tax modeling and special projects, as needed
- Maintain current knowledge of tax laws impacting MLPs and the midstream energy sector
- Interact with external service providers and internal departments, staff and C-level executives
- Work with other groups, including, but not limited to, accounting, finance, legal and regulatory, to further improve the quality and communication of tax related data
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- 7 or more years of relevant MLP, partnership, and/or corporate tax experience
- Industry experience in the midstream energy sector is a plus
- Big-4 firm experience preferred
- CPA preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
- Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees, vendors and company contacts.
- Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above.
- Detail oriented & ability to multi-task.
- Prior management experience is a plus
