Job description
The Head, Procurement Officer will report directly to Chief Legal Officer and will have the following direct reports:
• Procurement supervisor
• Procurement & Logistics Coordinator
• Procurement Analyst
• Procurement Accountant
PURPOSE
• To design, develop and review policies, processes and procedure (PPP) in line with world class procurement best practices
• Implement the use of Procurement &Logistics PPP for efficient implementation of policies to ensure reduction in turn-around time
• To provide direction for the Procurement & logistics department
• To coordinate and oversee team members’ compliance to policies, processes and procedures
• To ensure and carry out negotiations and reviews of prices are carried out in favourable terms to the organisation to achieve savings
• To provide direction and guidance to the subordinate staff
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
• Minimum of 13 years post-graduation work experience in a reputable establishment, out of which 6 years must have been spent in procurement preferably in a telecom environment
• 3 years supervisory/managerial capacity
• Keen analytical mind
• Detailed and optimum attention to details
• Ability to work without supervision
• Good negotiation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Database Administration
• Financial Acumen
• Planning and Budgeting skills
• Planning and Organising skills
• Procurement Management skills
• Supplier Management skills
• Proficiency in the use of basic Microsoft Office Suite Applications.

• First degree in business-related discipline or Engineering
• Post-graduate qualification in business-related discipline
• Professional certification in Purchasing and Supply chain Management or Logistics and supply Chain Management
