What you’ll do
Sound finances are crucial to our operations. In this key leadership role, you’ll ensure our senior managers have the financial information they need to optimise the business, manage mitigate risks and make robust decisions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Lead Finance business strategy execution
- Develop implementation framework for the Finance strategic and business plans
- Provide oversight for the development of policies and procedures to enable implementation of business and strategic objectives; finally approve policies and procedures
- Ensure that the strategic and business plans balance long term solutions to short term revenue generation and service delivery
- Formulate contingency plans to ensure that the strategic plan targets are achieved even in adverse conditions; even interventions in other areas of the business where necessary
Monitor finance accounting and reporting in the company
- Act as thought leader to drive the establishment of an effective and efficient management process and its continuous improvement
- Lead Finance performance in AAP; set and measure operational targets and determine areas of cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change
- Ensure that the company has robust finance systems in place
Act as main internal interface into the Finance organisation
- Drive ongoing communication with internal stakeholders as needed to drive departmental success
- Develop relevant internal stakeholder relationships that support the AAP Finance objectives and deliverables
- Represent the Finance function in internal meetings to better understand functional contexts for interpretation and adequate representation of financial data
What we’re looking for
Confident and capable, you’ll be someone who has:
- Substantial experience in financial management (including in-depth reporting)
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Cost & Management Accounting Degree)
- Solid understanding of financial/management accounting best practice
- Strong business and commercial acumen
- People skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Given the travel involved in this role, a valid driving licence will also be required.
It would also be an advantage if you have:
- Post-graduate degree in Financial Management or related
- Experience of mining industry
