Job description
The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Utilities and Maintenance Departments, providing essential administrative and operational support while maintaining high level of team collaboration. This dynamic position sits at the heart of daily operations and collaborates closely with internal teams, contractors, and campus partners.
Key responsibilities include procurement, underground utility locates and excavation permits, contractor parking coordination, maintaining accurate records and reporting. The role also provides overall office administration and serves as an important connector across departments to support clear communication and smooth operations.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and computer skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and engage effectively with a wide range of individuals across campus and beyond.
Education:
Associate’s degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school preferred
Experience:
1–2 years of relevant experience
Skills:
- Excellent working knowledge of computers and ability to utilize a variety of software applications
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of University processes and policies
- Strong organizational and time management skills
