Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Japanese Chef de Cuisine to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role and will have a proven track record of excellence in Japanese cuisine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Create and innovate menu items that reflect the rich traditions of Japanese cuisine, with a focus on Sushi, Teppanyaki, and Robatayaki.
  • Leverage past experience in prestigious establishments such as Suma or Nobu to elevate our culinary offerings.
  • Utilize previous experience in the Maldives to enhance the dining experience for our guests.
  • Promote the outlet effectively, utilizing strong marketing skills to attract and retain customers.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of cost control and budgeting to ensure profitability while maintaining quality.
  • Foster a positive and outgoing atmosphere in the kitchen, encouraging teamwork and collaboration among staff.
  • Over 6 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in Japanese cuisine.
  • Previous experience in high-end restaurants, particularly Suma or Nobu, is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional skills in Sushi, Teppanyaki, and Robatayaki preparation.
  • Outgoing personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of cost management and financial planning within a kitchen environment.
  • Proven ability to promote and market culinary offerings effectively.
  • High-level management skills, with the ability to lead a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
