Job description

Reporting directly to the VP GTA, the TA Leader will be a key member of the leadership team working across TA to advance TA’s capabilities and create a high-performance (effective and efficient) function

Responsibilities

TA lead role plays an integral and pivotal role in overall talent development / workforce development & growth strategy for their assigned business unit

  • Collaborate with all key constituents to help develop and outline business unit talent /workforce development strategy with a lens towards TA.
  • Co-develop workforce plan in partnership with HRVP and Business LT.
  • Partner with HRBP lead, PD partner, Executive Search, and respective business unit leaders to understand high-potential talent and key strategic positions / roles
  • Build an annual TA and multi-prong Sourcing Strategy, mobilize Recruiting and Sourcing to align goals and execute plan.
  • Assist with proactively helping with matching internal openings across their business unit and broader Biogen to place
  • Promote cross-development internal movement across their business unit and across Biogen
  • Monitor progress against plan and deploy regular reporting direct to business and HR partners.
  • On a quarterly basis, communicate progress to business and HR partners and work closely with Sourcing to provide competitive intelligence and market insights that help to educate business and HR partners. TA lead is the single point of contact and quarterback on all TA activity across their business unit (i.e., UR, Exec Search, Sourcing, etc.)
  • Interfaces and aligns internal TA groups and teams to execute business TA/Workforce strategy and plan
  • TA lead sits on business HRLT team and helps prioritize TA activity and priorities
  • TA lead supplies operational reporting and metrics for TA activity for their respective groups linking back to core and common reporting and customized business unit reporting where needed and appropriate
  • TA lead works with business HR Lead to resolve any key conflicts and help prioritize efforts as needed

As a member of the TA leadership team, leverage and/or drive pull through within their respective team:

  • Enterprise talent tools and best practices to drive process efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Utilization technology for applicant tracking, candidate management, reporting, and position and organization branding.
  • Corporate brand, employee value proposition and consistent messaging in all recruitment advertising. Stay abreast of evolving capabilities in TA, share insight and invest in advancing capabilities across all of TA.

Lead their organization to create and foster a high-performance culture enabling the team to thrive.

  • Establish well defined goals and expectations for team
  • Seek to understand and remove barriers enabling team to maximize their impact and drive performance
  • Provide regular guidance, coaching and feedback to grow and develop talent
  • Establish protocols to run effective staff meetings ensuring team members are aware and able to input into organizational priorities and changes
  • Ensure team focus on strong operational excellence in candidate care, hiring manager satisfaction, quality of hire, cycle time and cost effectiveness

Manage an average requisition load of 5-8 senior level (L12 and L13) positions

Minimum of 10+ years of recruiting and staffing experience with a focus on strategic talent acquisition and a minimum of 5 years of experience managing people/teams. Preferably Life Sciences experience.Bachelor’s degree

Talent Acquisition (TA) leader EU+ will be responsible to elevate capabilities for the European, Canadian, and International Partner Markets TA organization resulting in the creation of a workforce plan and annual TA strategies with well-defined sourcing plans. S/he will lead their team and align cross-functional members of TA and HR to execute plan in alignment with prioritized business needs.
