Job description

The main purpose of this role is to create, refine and execute Patient Service Strategies & Programs in Japan which are developed primarily in conjunction with the global patient support teams and local teams, including the medical team and cross-functional brand teams. The role will drive the agreed upon strategy related to our services which are provided to patients through our vendors and or partners or through interactions with hospitals, clinics or patient advocacy groups. Specifically, it will closely collaborate with medical, patient advocacy and the brand teams and define what services we offer to patients for which brand, how to deliver those services, and then monitor, measure and track the performance of those services or programs.

This strategic role includes managing our Patient Services vendors and or partners who ultimately support and help drive optimal treatment outcomes for patients who have been prescribed our products in all therapeutic areas, including non-product specific programs. The role will require an individual with strong English communication skills as well as a strategic mindset and excellent digital, digital channel and technology savvy skills.

The role reports into the Associate Director, Medical Excellence & Operations, closely collaborating with the cross-functional brand teams to ensure we are compliant in our service offerings.

1. ? It is critical for the candidate to appropriately liaise with the brand teams leads to ensure the Patient Services strategy fully supports and is integrated with the individual brand strategies, but also leverages the power of the franchise. ? In collaboration with the global team, implement, monitor & maintain as the owner, the patient services governance infrastructure in Biogen Japan, including: SOPs, work instructions, vendor guidelines, training & reporting. A critical component of the role is to maintain necessary pharmacovigilance, JPMA and audit compliance regulations ? Develop strong internal & external alliances and networks, gaining key insights allowing the individual to innovate, further strengthen and manage strategies for our Patient Services Programs including the specific services to be offered, the channel to offer those services through, creating a competitive advantage for Biogen, and improving the quality of care for patients. ? This role directly develops and manage strategies for all our current and pipeline Patient Services offerings and will coordinate closely with the pipeline and Medical to ensure the strategy and services are aligned to the brands’ objectives. ? This role will be responsible for achieving due diligence, research, finalizing and executing service offerings and ensuring that the services meet the needs of patients

? Appropriately manage the vendors & service provider(s) for Patient Services and ensure we have a best-in-class delivery of our services through our Biogen Programs (CLEO, SMAiLEE etc), as well as any new pipeline programs. ? Management of the vendors and partners includes monthly reporting and dashboards, ensuring the optimal delivery/service model are achieved, supporting any ancillary services and ensuring they are fully integrated into the Medical organization, performing quarterly business reviews to share best practices and address any challenges, and manage the overall the budget for the Patient Services program.

. External Stakeholder Management ? In collaboration with Patient Advocacy & Communications, managing the relationships with KMEs, the therapeutic area societies & health care consumer organisations to ensure we are collaborating and coordinating efforts in support of patients. This is an important channel for Biogen to maintain a strong relationship with and ensuring that we are not competing with each other in serving the patients. ? The goal is to analyse and assess the service offerings of each organization and determine how we can align those offerings to best serve the patient. ? In this capacity, the role works very closely with Medical, Sales and Marketing, Pipeline, R&D, Patient advocacy, Public Affairs and Market Access.
