Principle Network Strategy Analyst

The Principal Network Strategy Analyst works across the Operations organization with key stakeholders to develop strategic recommendations and decision models and enrolls these teams in the decision and resultant actions for the team to execute upon. These evaluations include consideration of economic, operational and technical inputs.  While the role is cross functional, two prominent stakeholders are manufacturing (internal and external) and Asset teams. Accordingly, the Principal Analyst will engage with Senior Leadership and Governance Boards to present decisions for endorsement which provide strategic direction on investment and resource allocation (capex, opex, personnel) for each modality, node and molecule.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provide decision support, decision models and data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and governance boards regarding:

• End-to End Supply chain network designs and modality strategies.
• Asset (molecule) strategies including supply chain design, location, make vs. buy, scale and timing for investment, utilizing a risk-based approach gated to asset plan and asset milestones.
• Evaluation of business development and partnership opportunities in support network designs and strategies.
• Business Cases to support technology, manufacturing, capital and resource investments.
• Developing and evolving decision support tools including make vs. buy and supply chain risk model.
• Lead and support strategic and network optimization projects as needed.

Evaluate and create Asset (Molecule) supply chain configurations considering technology, scale, location, tax and economics, physical flows, financial flows and regulatory requirements/timing.

Use pre-established structured decision processes and modeling to determine the most appropriate network design for each molecule – node by node.

Leverage a risk-based approach, gating investment to successful asset advancement.

Establish and evolve Network Design by modality and nodes.

Lead cross functional evaluations across all modalities (Large Molecule, Small molecule, ASO and Gene therapy platforms) and nodes (API, DP, FG) to establish core scientific, technical and operational core competencies which provide a competitive advantage.

Evaluate existing/legacy supply chain configurations against endorsed strategies and provide recommendations for efficiency and risk mitigation.

Lead and support continuous improvement (Biogen Forward) and network optimization projects which are required to realize modality and node strategies.

Support business case development for business development and partnership opportunities, investment in technology and infrastructure, and resource allocation across all modalities, nodes, and molecules.
