Diesel Mechanic ( Stay-in Set-up)

JOB SCOPE: 

Responsible for maintaining equipment/machine/vehicle/generator sets operations by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; conducts troubleshooting. correcting deficiencies, making adjustments and alignments, keeping records, conducting repairs and troubleshooting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs preventive and correction maintenance activities on plant equipment and machinery particularly on the generator sets like biogas generator, ensuring the efficient running and prolong the service life of the machines and equipment.

2. Conducts problem solving activities on causes and corrective measures for mechanical variances. Solicits the advice of the Maintenance Supervisor for problems that remain unsolved.

3. Conducts routine inspection of machinery and equipment operating parameters as prescribed, initiates corrective measures on any abnormality.

4. Performs scheduled lubrication works on plant equipment and machinery.

5. Maintains spare parts inventory and prepare a list of required parts to be ordered. Checks spare parts received prior to storage ensuring that these are of good quality and have correct specifications.

6. Attend to emergency service request and night calls as needed.

7. Performs housekeeping jobs in compliance with 5S.

8. Assists in the supervision of contractors in the performance of contracted works ensuring quality workmanship and specification.

9. Performs other related works in carrying out the objective of his position and as may be assigned by immediate superior.

OTHER TASK:

1. Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT :

• Preferably a graduate of Bachelor of Science/ Vocational Course/ NCII in Mechanical / Engineering, Automotive or any related courses

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

• Must have at least 3 years experience in Diesel Engine or Generator 

CRITICAL SKILLS OR COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Ability to undertake trouble-shooting for plant machinery and equipment

• Knowledge and understanding of plant technology
