Job Description:
- The Associate Enterprise Risk Specialist supports the development, implementation, continuous improvement and reporting for the Clinet’s Enterprise Risk (ER) management function.
- The Associate Enterprise Risk Specialist supports the ER team assisting with the on-going identification, definition, assessment, analysis, mitigation and monitoring of enterprise level risks and opportunities impacting achievement of strategic objectives and business initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Perform statistical and quantitative analysis on individual risks and the risk inventory to identify underlying relationships and assist in the risk roll-up/alignment process.
- As directed, research emerging risk issues and present summary findings to Senior Management.
- Provide support for the Enterprise Risk team and staff in facilitating the Enterprise Risk (ERT) process by providing risk identification, definition, assessment, analysis, mitigation, and monitoring.
- Support the development of enterprise risk reports by providing data base support, mapping of data elements, developing and testing quantitative algorithms, etc.
- Assisting with the development, updating, and reporting of Key Risk Indicators
- As directed, support the ERT in aligning processes and systems by working in partnership with Internal Audit, Compliance, and Strategy.
- Assist ERT in the development of training materials and assist in conducting ER education, training, and workshops to various levels of Client’s Business Units management and staff.
- Assist senior specialists and the Senior Director-Enterprise Risk Management in the preparation of executive level presentations.
- Provide support on the on-going operation and data base maintenance of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) software module specific to the ER program.
- Perform regular updates to the risk repository, assessment, and reporting tool and ensure integrity of the repository data base.
- Work with senior ERT members to establish and implement the Enterprise Risk task level schedule to ensure timely delivery of assigned work products.
- As directed, develop and maintain up-to-date meeting minutes, reports and related materials for the Enterprise Risk website.
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of various types of risk drivers, including Market Risk, Operational Risk, Credit Risk, etc.
- Basic knowledge of enterprise-wide Risk management concepts.
- Basic knowledge of financial planning concepts.
- Proficient in spreadsheet and/or statistical analysis packages. Working knowledge of Access, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project.
- General understanding of enterprise risk management practices as they apply to the energy/utility industry
- Ability to prepare and deliver clear and concise summary and insights with assistance from senior analysts and manager; including advanced PowerPoint skills
- Ability to work and interact with various levels of staff and management across all business units and departments.
- Ability to clearly communicate and present analysis results and underlying assumptions with clarity.
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of the NYISO and regional energy markets.
- Understanding of Client’s generating and transmission facilities
- Understanding of client’s financial planning tools.
- Familiarity with Government compliance and internal audit functions
- Working knowledge of probability analysis, scenario analysis, and financial analysis techniques such as return-on-investment, discounted cash flow, etc.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- A minimum of 2 years directly relevant experience with risk analysis and interpretation and conversion of business functions into full process mapping.
