Job description

  • Develop and maintain Parts Technical Information (PTI) departmental systems and perform Part Coding, Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards (VMRS) Coding, and other projects for Freightliner aftermarket systems.
  • Intermediate level analyst position with Management Information Systems (MIS) skills. 
  • Envision, plan, develop, test, deploy, and document systems to improve quality and performance in PTI.
  • Operate, maintain and help in the development of PTI Parts Technical Information systems.
  • Analyze and configure data to allow for correct uploading and updating into the aftermarket parts system.  Follow department procedures for handling data, and coordinate the updating of those procedures.
  • Assist in documenting bills of materials in the Service Parts Catalog (SPC) or Outside Parts Catalog (OPC) database for quality in PartsPro.  Monitor illustration (art) file for accuracy in PartsPro.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Pricing, suppliers, planners and other entities to gather data required.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies and develop programmatic solutions to make updates and corrections to the system. 
  • Maintain aftermarket hierarchy cross reference table.
  • Work with planners, technical personnel, and suppliers to determine the correct part type coding for replacement parts.
  • Receive data packages from suppliers and analyze for required system updates regarding part type codes, hierarchy, and other data elements.  Develop any required programmatic updates.
  • May assist in the training of other parts technical analysts for parts documentation and systems.
  • Perform ad hoc assignments as directed by supervisor including VMRS coding for OWL and others.

               

  • Bachelor's degree--Management Information Systems (MIS) technical discipline, or at least two years of college in a MIS technical discipline and two years of MIS systems experience required.
  • Proficiency in understanding, working with, and developing in basic computer languages, database creation use and management, and reporting required.  Proficiency in project management required.
  • PC skills using SAP, Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access, SQL, Visual Basic and Visual Basic.net are required.
  •  Demonstrated use of MIS tools to automate processes to improve productivity and quality required. 
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills are required.
