4438 Sr. Mechanical Engineer/Designer - Catia V5 HVAC

• Job Functions:

Design and package HVAC plumbing assemblies (heater and air conditioning) for Various Trucks and vehicle platforms. Design and package brackets and heat shields. Package AC compressors on engine in surrounding environment. Package AC condensers on cooling package/back of cab and in surrounding environment. Very good understanding of tooling issues and requirements for bending/brazing tubes and steel brackets. Very good understanding of hose clocking design and minimum clearance issues to other components. Release assembly and installation diagrams into the clients IMS and SMARAGD systems. Release and update bills of material and design charts. Answer Shop Calls and Custom Work Orders with new designs. Provide detailed .JPG pictures to explain design intent for meetings and presentations.

• Basic Qualifications:

Must be able to research packaging constraints and issues which may include discussions with many different people and attending mock-up workshops or independent review of production trucks. Must be able to interact with many different personnel types including Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Service and Suppliers to get information quickly and efficiently. Must be able to develop solutions that benefit all groups, not just one area. Must be able to use the Clients BOM (IMS) & SMARAGD (PDM systems). Must be hands-on type of person that doesn't mind reviewing real trucks. Some knowledge of HVAC systems is preferred.

• Education:

BSME preferred, but not required.

• CAD Requirements:

CATIA V4 - 2500 hrs min, CATIA V5 ' 7500 hrs min, 3D Solids, Kinematics, NC Programming, Advanced Surfacing preferred, GDT Training preferred.
