Overview Perform tasks involving physical labor at Kankakee warehouse under direct supervision of Site Manager. Performs support to warehouse efforts on general shop labor and maintenance tasks Responsibilities Troubleshoot, perform maintenance, and repairs to welding machines, power panels, transformers, electric fans, power cords & electrical systems. · Assemble, repair, troubleshoot and test proprietary submerged arc automated welding machines & submerged arc welding equipment. · Assemble, repair, troubleshoot & test proprietary automated FCAW welding machines/equipment. · Install & repair electrical wiring systems, conduit, & fixtures in building & in sea containers. · Ability to test electrical systems to ensure proper installation & operation. · Knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty. · Ability to read drawings & electrical wiring diagrams. · Ability to use hand tools & power tools. · Proficiency in the use of test meters & other diagnostic equipment. · Knowledge & familiarity of National Electric Code & requirements. · Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance. · Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. · Disassembles and repairs defective equipment or systems. · Load, transport and unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies. · Operate lift trucks & overhead cranes. · Maintains tools and equipment. · Be able to distinguish colors. · Complete work orders to document repairs to equipment · Knowledge of certain procedures such as LOTO, etc. Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
