Job description

Responsible for the planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical patient, the successful candidate will function within the multidisciplinary team and rotate through all surgical specialties (orthopedics including total joints, general, gynecology, vascular, urology, otolaryngology, cysto and ophthalmology) working a variety of shifts including on call.

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
  • Perioperative Certification required
  • Minimum three years OR experience required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player, ability to utilize critical thinking skills, positive caring attitude, flexible and willingness to learn.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

We require an individual who is a strong communicator, interacts with co-workers and clients with care and respect and has the ability to foster a work environment that focuses on teamwork.

Hours: Monday – Sunday, Various Rotating 7.5 hours shifts (0730-1530, 0900-1700, 1100-1900, 1500-2300) – including scheduled on-call duties  (hours are subject to change based on operational needs).

Salary: $41.15 to $58.98 per hour
