Job description
Processes weekly and bi-weekly payroll for Corporate, Store, Customer Care, and Distribution Center employees across multiple entities and states. Ensures payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role supports payroll operations, continuous process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration by performing the following primary duties:
Prepare, review, and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies across various states, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all payroll regulations and company policies.
Maintain a thorough understanding of payroll processes, including wage and hour laws, garnishments, tax withholdings, direct deposit, and pay card programs. Assist in the administration and resolution of related issues.
Review and validate employee timekeeping data, including regular hours, overtime, paid time off, and other earnings or deductions, ensuring proper approvals and compliance with company policies.
Audit payroll data, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and employee/employer tax calculations, to ensure accuracy prior to final processing. Investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Process and monitor wage garnishments, levies, and child support orders in accordance with legal requirements, ensuring timely and accurate withholding and remittance.
Support payroll tax processes, including reviewing tax filings, assisting with reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Modify, create, and maintain standard and ad hoc payroll reports using reporting tools and systems to support business needs, audits, and financial analysis.
Assist with payroll system upgrades, enhancements, and releases by participating in testing, validation, and implementation activities to ensure system functionality and data integrity.
Analyze existing payroll processes and procedures to identify inefficiencies or risks. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Research, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a high level of customer service.
Support payroll-related projects, including system implementations, process improvements, audits, and compliance initiatives.
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members who require additional support or development in payroll processes and systems.
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll information, ensuring data security and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT, to ensure alignment and accuracy of employee data and payroll processing.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned based on business needs.
Required Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree (A.S.) from a two-year college or university or equivalent experience and 1 – 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay range: $23-24/hr (Depending on Experience). This role will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401k, sick leave, parental leave, and company paid time off plan.
