Job Description Summary

OleOle is building a football-focused social network and super app designed for the world’s 3 billion football fans.

The platform combines:
• Real-time social feeds and microblogging
• TikTok-style short-form video
• Live scores and match experiences
• Messaging and mobile calls
• AI-powered translation and football history
• Rewards, commerce, and future crypto-enabled infrastructure

We are looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer to help architect and build core user-facing experiences across web and mobile platforms.

This is not a ticket-driven implementation role.

We are looking for engineers who can take ownership of major frontend systems, make strong architectural decisions, and help shape the long-term direction of the platform.

You will work closely with backend engineers, product leadership, and design teams to build high-performance, real-time consumer experiences used by football fans globally.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Architecting scalable frontend systems across web and mobile
• Building reusable, maintainable UI components and frontend infrastructure
• Developing high-performance real-time user experiences
• Collaborating closely with backend engineers on APIs, event systems, and real-time workflows
• Optimizing rendering performance, responsiveness, and frontend scalability
• Contributing to frontend architecture, standards, and engineering direction
• Helping establish long-term frontend engineering culture and technical quality

What We’re Looking For

• 7–12+ years of frontend or full-stack engineering experience
• Strong experience building complex consumer-facing products at scale
• Deep understanding of modern frontend architecture and performance optimization
• Strong experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling
• Experience building real-time applications, feeds, messaging systems, or high-engagement products
• Strong understanding of responsive design, frontend state management, and rendering performance
• Experience collaborating closely with product, design, and backend engineering teams
• Ability to operate independently with high ownership and minimal hand-holding
• Strong engineering judgment and ability to balance speed with long-term maintainability

• Experience with SSR and SEO-focused frontend architecture
• Experience building video-heavy or media-rich products
• Experience with WebSockets, streaming, or event-driven systems
• Experience working alongside Rust backend infrastructure

Qualifications

Your Background

• 7–12+ years of professional frontend or full-stack engineering experience building consumer-facing applications at scale

• Deep expertise with modern JavaScript and TypeScript ecosystems, including React and modern frontend architecture patterns

• Strong experience building complex, real-time user interfaces such as:
• Social feeds and timelines
• Messaging and notification systems
• Live sports or live-content experiences
• Video-heavy consumer applications
• High-engagement mobile-first products

• Strong experience with React ecosystem tooling including Hooks, Context API, Zustand, Redux Toolkit, RTK Query, Next.js, or similar modern frameworks

• Deep understanding of SSR, frontend performance optimization, rendering strategies, hydration, caching, and SEO-focused frontend architecture

• Experience integrating frontend systems with high-performance backend services using REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets, or event-driven architectures

• Experience collaborating closely with backend teams operating strongly typed systems such as Rust, Go, or similar infrastructure-focused environments

• Strong understanding of frontend scalability, state management, component architecture, and reusable design systems

• Experience building responsive, mobile-first applications across web and native mobile environments

• Strong experience with modern frontend tooling and engineering workflows including:
• Vite, Webpack, Turbopack, or similar build systems
• Storybook or component-driven development workflows
• Playwright, Cypress, or frontend testing frameworks
• GitHub-based engineering workflows and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong understanding of frontend performance, accessibility, and usability best practices including Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse optimization, and WCAG accessibility standards

• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across engineering, product, and design teams

• Comfortable operating independently with high ownership and minimal hand-holding

   Experience building high-performance feeds, timelines, engagement systems, notifications, or real-time social experiences.

2. Messaging & Real-Time Interaction Systems
   Experience building chat systems, presence systems, real-time updates, WebSocket-driven interfaces, or communication products.

3. Video & Media Experiences
   Experience building video-heavy interfaces, creator tools, media feeds, playback systems, or TikTok-style interaction experiences.

4. SEO & Football History Infrastructure
   Experience building SSR-driven platforms, large-scale content rendering systems, SEO-focused frontend architecture, or highly performant content experiences.

Compensation & Structure

 

This role is currently structured as deferred compensation.

 

All current team members — including leadership, engineers, designers, and product teams — are currently working under the same structure while the company secures new funding.

 

This is not unpaid work.

 

Compensation is intended to convert into a normalized salary structure post-funding, in addition to:
• Founding-level equity ownership
• Long-term token participation
• Significant influence over product and technical direction

 

We want to be fully transparent:
• There is real startup risk
• Fundraising timelines are unpredictable
• Building at this stage requires resilience, ownership, and long-term thinking

 

At the same time, this role provides the opportunity to help build a globally ambitious consumer platform from the earliest stages with meaningful ownership and long-term upside.
