Position Summary The Float Caregiver provides compassionate, dependable, person-centered support to clients within an assigned geographical area of the Minnesota Metro Area. This position is designed to support clients who are awaiting permanent caregiver placement, while also helping cover staffing needs, open shifts, short-term assignments, and care continuity needs across the assigned area. The Float Caregiver serves as a reliable bridge of support until a permanent caregiver is placed. This role requires flexibility, dependability, comfort traveling within an assigned service area, and the ability to adapt quickly to different client needs, care plans, home environments, and team communication expectations Responsibilities ● Provide caregiver support to clients within an assigned geographical metro-area territory. ● Support clients who are awaiting permanent caregiver placement to ensure continuity of care. ● Provide short-term, interim, or coverage-based support based on client needs and scheduling assignments. ● Travel locally between client homes, service locations, or branch territories as scheduled. ● Provide personal care support, including assistance with dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, mobility, positioning, and transfers. ● Assist with daily routines that support client comfort, independence, and dignity. ● Provide companionship and meaningful engagement to reduce isolation and support emotional well-being. ● Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, errands, and other homemaker tasks as assigned. ● Support safe mobility, including walking, transferring, turning, positioning, and use of approved assistive equipment when appropriate. ● Provide medication reminders or assistance with pre-dosed medications within role guidelines and applicable regulations. ● Review and follow each client’s individualized care plan prior to providing services. ● Adapt to varying client preferences, home environments, schedules, and support needs. ● Observe and report changes in client condition, behavior, needs, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor. ● Document services accurately and timely according to company expectations. ● Communicate respectfully and promptly with clients, families, supervisors, schedulers, and care team members. ● Support last-minute or priority coverage needs when available and assigned. ● Maintain client confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries. ● Promote a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for every person supported. Float Position Expectations The Float Caregiver is expected to: ● Maintain flexibility to work with multiple clients within an assigned geographical metro area. ● Accept assignments based on client care needs, permanent caregiver placement timelines, staffing coverage, and business priorities. ● Serve as interim support for clients awaiting permanent caregiver placement. ● Be comfortable entering new client homes and quickly reviewing care plans and expectations. ● Maintain reliable transportation and consistent availability for assigned shifts. ● Communicate timely with scheduling and supervisory teams regarding availability, travel concerns, delays, client updates, or changes in assignment needs. ● Arrive on time and prepared for each assigned shift. ● Follow Amivie’s attendance, documentation, confidentiality, and client care expectations at every assignment. ● Represent Amivie professionally across all client homes, communities, and service areas. ● Submit eligible mileage documentation timely and accurately according to company policy when reimbursement applies Qualifications What You Bring ● A compassionate, dependable, and respectful approach to care. ● Flexibility and willingness to travel throughout an assigned Minnesota Metro Area territory. ● A genuine interest in helping people live safely and independently at home. ● Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly with clients and families. ● Reliability, punctuality, and strong follow-through. ● Ability to work independently while staying connected to the broader care team. ● Comfort adapting to different client needs, care plans, and home environments. ● Comfort assisting with personal care and daily living needs. ● Ability to lift, transfer, turn, or reposition clients as required by the care plan. ● Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally as required. ● Authorized to work in the United States. ● Prior caregiving, home care, PCA, CNA, DSP, float pool, or direct support experience preferred, but not always required.
