As a Senior Software Engineer in the Payments team, you will play a key role in building and evolving the systems that authorize, capture, and settle transactions seamlessly across multiple payment methods, currencies, and geographies. Your work will directly impact conversion rates, reduce transaction failures, and ensure compliance with global financial and regulatory standards.
This role is critical in enabling innovation in areas like tokenization, fraud prevention, and alternative payment methods, while maintaining the highest standards of security and data integrity.
In this role, you will get to:
Drive mission-critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business.
You will help design resilient, fault tolerant payment architectures that handle real time decisioning, risk integrations, and downstream financial workflows such as refunds, reconciliation, and reporting.
Innovate with a cross-functional agile team that continuously experiments, iterates, and delivers on new product objectives.
Architect and implement the core, high-performance distributed systems that process millions of tracking events daily, directly ensuring the integrity and completeness of our foundational measurement data.
Drive technical innovation by selecting and utilizing cutting-edge technologies (e.g., Kafka, NoSQL databases) to achieve sub-10ms response times for critical attribution APIs at massive scale.
Serve as a technical leader, designing the security and durability models for our data ingestion layer and mentoring the team on modern, scalable engineering practices.
Directly impact business decisions by providing the real-time data flow necessary for accurate campaign reporting and budget allocation across the organization.
The ability to quickly apply your experience to understand our codebase, systems and business requirements to effectively make changes to our applications.
Influencer and communicator on team development efforts. Influence what the best solutions are and communicate your findings to key business stakeholders.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
6+ years of experience in software engineering and development.
Exceptional coding experience with Core Java or similar programming languages.
An interest in being a mentor and influencing best practices with less experienced developers.
Strong grasp of SQL compositions skills for composing queries and analysis.
Confident with the utilization of Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
Experience with developing on Cloud, especially GCP.
Experience in Microservices, Kubernetes (GKE preferable), and Dockers.
Proven ability in Design and Architecture of complex, highly scalable and performance-driven applications.
Experience working on JavaScript frameworks, Python is a plusIllustrated history of living the values necessary to Priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability and Trust.

Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
