Job description

Arηs Group, Part of Accenture, is looking for a Freelance Digital Workplace Consultant for one of its clients at the EU Institutions in Brussels.

Context

The role operates within a complex enterprise IT environment, supporting IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365 services, cloud platforms, and digital workplace tools. It acts as a key interface between business units, end users, and central IT (Client and external providers), ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient IT services while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Administer and support IT infrastructure components including servers, operating systems, networks, virtualization, backups, and monitoring tools.
  • Manage Active Directory environments (domains, GPOs, OUs, security and LDAP groups) and restricted access pools.
  • Coordinate infrastructure, application updates, vulnerability remediation, and maintenance activities with client IT teams.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint Online (Site Collection Administration), Teams governance, permissions, and new ways of working.
  • Act as advisor, trainer, and coach for end users on M365 features, permissions, privacy, and collaboration practices.
  • Support cloud environments (AWS, Azure, M365), including account management, security policies, cost control, and incident handling.
  • Manage service requests, assets, access rights, and chargeback processes via ServiceNow and related DWP/IRM tools.
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, document procedures, and produce technical reports.
  • Participate in regular coordination meetings with IT stakeholders and contribute to ongoing improvement projects.

Technical Skills

  • Operating systems: Windows Server (2019–2022), Linux.
  • Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
  • Active Directory: domains, GPOs, OUs, security/LDAP groups.
  • Scripting: basic PowerShell and Bash.
  • Infrastructure operations: system installation, patching, backups, disaster recovery, monitoring, troubleshooting.
  • Cybersecurity fundamentals: firewalls, antivirus, access control, vulnerability management.
  • Virtualization: VMware, Hyper‑V (optional).
  • Databases: SQL fundamentals.
  • Cloud & platforms: Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, Azure, AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM).
  • Enterprise tools: ServiceNow, JASSPR, MOSAIC, iCOCO, Dynatrace, GOVIS2, OMS.
  • Application servers and middleware: WebLogic, Tomcat.
  • Documentation, technical reporting, and cost/billing follow‑up.
