The Opportunity
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Supervisor is a key leadership role within Harvey Beef's operations, a cornerstone business of Harvest Road Group. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating all maintenance activities across the site to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our plant and equipment.
The Role
Leading, supervising, and developing a team of Maintenance Technicians, Trades Assistants, and Apprentices to achieve safe and effective maintenance outcomes
Coordinating and overseeing both planned preventative maintenance and unplanned breakdown work across the site
Working closely with the Maintenance Planner to prioritise the backlog, allocate resources, and optimise plant uptime
Applying advanced trade knowledge to diagnose complex equipment faults and implement lasting, effective solutions
Leading root cause analysis into equipment failures and driving corrective and preventative actions
Ensuring all work orders, safety documentation, and maintenance records are completed accurately and on time in the CMMS (MEX)
Championing a proactive safety culture and ensuring full compliance with WHS legislation, site safety systems, and company policies
Liaising with the Maintenance Superintendent, Maintenance Manager, and Production teams to align maintenance and operational priorities
Contributing to budget management, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives
Identifying training and capability gaps within the team and supporting structured skills development
What Makes You a Great Fit
Essential:
Recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate
Significant post-trade experience in a heavy industry, manufacturing, or continuous processing environment
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an FMCG environment, ideally food or red meat processing
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a maintenance operations setting
Strong working knowledge of CMMS platforms (such as MEX), preventative maintenance practices, and safety management systems
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical faults under operational pressure
Sound understanding of budgeting, cost control, and KPI management
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and develop a diverse team
Highly regarded:
Experience in beef or red meat processing
Familiarity with LOTO (Lock Out / Tag Out) and Permit to Work systems
Experience contributing to capital project identification and justification
Exposure to workforce planning and succession development
