Job description

The Lead Technician is a senior‑level CNC Machinist/Programmer responsible for independently operating, setting up, and optimizing CNC milling machines. Position requires advanced CNC programming skills, strong knowledge of tooling and machining strategies, and proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and fixture design. The role also contributes to process improvements and provides technical guidance to junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities and Role Accountabilities:

  • Can assess the design to create an efficient program for CNC machining 
  • Capable of operating conventional machines (e.g., Lathe, Milling, Drill, Welding & others)
  • Select tools, fixtures, and machining parameters to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Operate, set up, and optimize CNC milling machines for precision manufacturing.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs and machining issues.
  • Use SolidWorks for part modeling, fixture/tooling design, and manufacturability improvements.
  • Perform minor to moderate machine troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Conduct in‑process inspections and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Mentor junior technicians and support engineering teams in continuous improvement.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Eletromechanical Technology, or a related field of study.
  • At least 5 years of hands‑on CNC programming and machining experience.
  • Preferably with a background in electronics or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Strong experience with SolidWorks and CAM software (e.g., SW, SolidCAM, Mastercam).
  • Advanced skills in CNC programming, machine setup, tooling, and metrology.
  • Ability to work independently and support/mentor junior staff.
