Job description

Overview The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Social Care division. This is a unique opportunity to join one of two key services: our Integrated Front Door Service , focusing on rapid response and early intervention, or the West Integrated Service , which provides longer-term, community-based support. Both roles are essential in delivering a high-quality, timely service that responds to the diverse needs of adults, children, and their carers across the borough. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, developing, and monitoring individualised care plans that prioritise independence and safety. Your work will involve the commissioning of adaptations and equipment, as well as providing expert guidance on moving and handling for independent living. We are particularly looking for practitioners with a passion for a preventative, Reablement, and Technology Enabled Care (TEC) approach, ensuring that residents can remain in their own homes with dignity and confidence. All assessments and support plans are conducted in accordance with the wellbeing principles of the Care Act 2014, reflecting a strengths-based model that empowers residents to take control of their own lives. You will work as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary environment where guidance and professional supervision are provided in line with your experience and our comprehensive Supervision Policy. Whether you are at the "front door" or working within our integrated locality teams, you will play a vital role in shaping positive outcomes for Harrow’s community. This position offers flexible scheduling with the option for either part-time (18 hours per week) or full-time (36 hours per week) commitments. About You The successful candidate will have: Dip COT (state registered) or Degree in Occupational Therapy. Registered with HCPC Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. Ability to maintain and demonstrate Royal College of Occupational Therapy guidelines and standards of practice, including maintaining accurate and comprehensive records. Good understanding of relevant legislation including Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005, demonstrate the ability to work in accordance to the Care Act Statutory guidance , MCA Code of Practice .
