Learn more about GitHub’s project management tools: https://github.com/features/#features-project-management In this role you will be a leader and multiplier within our distributed team who will not only design, prototype, implement, ship and support highly performant and inspiring user experiences, but will also help us uncover and solve tricky and foundational scaling and user-experience problems that will unlock further Copilot integration into GitHub Issues and Projects. Ideally, you are comfortable working across the stack but tilt towards the front-end. Contribute to and improve our code base from day one Foster technical growth across the team by researching new approaches , sharing insights, and guiding their practical adoption Write, review and maintain code primarily in JavaScript (React, TypeScript) and Ruby (Rails) Write architecture briefs and proposals, carry out code experiments, and build prototypes to learn how we can achieve planetary scale with our systems Work closely with engineering leadership to guide technical investment and implement technical roadmaps and priorities Coordinate with engineering and product leads to define, prioritize, and task projects that help us meet business objectives Provide technical leadership, mentorship, pairing opportunities, and code reviews to encourage the growth of others Qualifications Required Qualifications: 6+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python OR Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python OR Doctorate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fie OR equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 2 years experience in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or a similar language) Minimum 2 years experience using general purpose programming languages (e.g., Go, Ruby, or a similar language). Minimum 3 years experience with cloud environments and/or Cloud Native Compute Foundation (CNCF) concepts.
