Job description
Overview 概述 NPI Tooling and Injection Engineer role main scope is to ensure our tooling and injection molding processes are high capabilities, standardized across all suppliers and locations and executed to deliver quality products without delays in new product introductions or product transfers. This position will oversee and optimize the injection molding processes in manufacturing and tooling design and fabrication. This involves a combination of technical expertise in mold design and process optimization, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills. This position will be responsible for ensuring efficient and high-quality production of molded parts. Responsibilities 职责 POSITION PROFILE (Major duties, accountabilities, and responsibilities) 1. Tasks and Responsibilities : a. Process Development and Optimization: b. Overseeing the injection molding processes, including machine settings, material selection, and cycle times, to achieve optimal production output and part quality. c. Mold Design and Tooling review in accordance with drawings and requirements d. Ensures the drawing used for the tooling fabrications meet standards and include all required information e. Evaluating and improving mold designs, tooling, and other equipment to enhance efficiency and minimize defects. f. Ensuring proper simulations are used in the process g. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: identifying and resolving issues related to molding processes, materials, or equipment, often involving root cause analysis and corrective actions. h. Process Monitoring and Control: establishing and maintaining process controls, including data collection and analysis, to ensure consistent quality and identify potential areas for improvement. i. Project Management: leading or participating in projects related to new product launches, process improvements, or equipment upgrades. j. Ensure tools are designed correctly, manufactured to specifications and drawings, and function efficiently to produce high-quality plastic parts. This role involves collaborating with various teams, troubleshooting tooling issues, and continuously improving the tooling process. k. Participates in tooling release l. Participates and leads Local Tool Release after transfer m. Working closely with design, production, quality, and other teams to ensure smooth operations and achieve production goals. n. Documentation and Reporting: Creating and maintaining process documentation, including mold process sheets and reports on process performance. o. Training and Support: Providing guidance and training to other team members, including process technicians, on scientific molding practices and best practices. p. Developing and implementing standards q. Participates in tolerances analysis and parts design review (check radi, etc.) 2. Self-Management: a. Anticipates and overcomes obstacles b. Is self-aware, resilient, optimistic and open to change c. A self-starter, motivated d. Focused, target driven with a positive, can-do attitude 3. Performs all other related duties as necessary. Qualifications 资格 Degree minimum: Bachelor Specific concentration: Engineering, Mechanical, Experience level: 10+ years in tooling and injection molding PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: (i.e. Certifications, etc.) Consumer products experience or equivalent SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR SKILLS REQUIRED: Good written and verbal communications. Strong analytical skills. Proactive rather than reactive to problems. Willing to travel to existing and potential suppliers (>60% of time travel) This position requires the ability to manage the flow of data, perform analysis, generate summary reports and communicate by voice or data while being connected in the office, at home or while travelling by laptop or mobile device regularly without regard to time zone or day of the week.
