Overview Part of the Human Resources team, you are the driving force behind building a strong employee culture. You act as the bridge between management and employees to ensure the workplace nurtures productivity and growth. With your expertise in addressing the diverse needs of employees, you will contribute significantly to our organization's success and ability to attract, retain, and develop top talent. Responsibilities Provide short-term, dedicated support to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and stabilization of benefits operations, with a focus on retiree benefits administration, regulatory requirements, and process control improvements during a critical period of operational demand. Compliance & Audit Support – Support ACA, 401(k), and benefits compliance activities; respond to audit requests; validate data and documentation (e.g., Deloitte audit support) Retiree Benefits Administration (Compliance-Focused) – Manage retiree eligibility, enrollment, billing validation, and vendor coordination (medical, COBRA, Medicare-related plans) Health & Welfare Plan Governance – Support governance for active and retiree populations; ensure alignment between plan design, system configuration, and vendor outputs Process Controls & Audit Readiness – Document SOPs, perform reconciliations, support control checks, and identify/remediate compliance gaps Vendor & Data Coordination – Partner with vendors (Aon, carriers, COBRA administrators) to resolve discrepancies and validate data across systems Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in Benefits Administration, Compliance, or HR Operations Experience supporting audits (e.g., Deloitte, external auditors) Experience in a complex, multi-vendor benefits environment Strong knowledge of health & welfare benefits, 401(k), and ERISA Experience with benefits compliance and regulatory reporting Ability to analyze and validate large datasets across systems and vendors Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-demand environment Experience with benefits integrations and vendor file management Knowledge of retiree benefits administration and Medicare coordination CEBS, SHRM-CP/SCP, or similar certification Hiring Range This is a contract position, the pay rate is $50.00 per hour. All equipment is provided, and you will be working remote with the ability to come onsite 1 day per week to Piscataway, NJ and when needed .
