Job description
The Production Manager is responsible for leading the production team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production objectives while driving all safety, quality, and delivery standards. The Production Manager will lead a culture of positive leadership, development, and accountability across all production staff while driving to plant and company goals.
Pay range: $95-$120k + 10% Bonus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Drive a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing California Closets standards, culture and adhering to safety regulations and lead by example.
· Responsible for driving safety, quality, and production by partnering cross functionally, including making decisions based on California Closets standards and following guidance from leadership with regards to the following:
o Manage daily/weekly production requirements.
o Assigning and monitoring work to maintain balanced output and flow.
o Requesting resources as necessary to assist with performance.
o Escalated responder to all process interruptions and initial decision making for recovery or production stop until issues are cleared pertaining to any of the following: Safety, Quality, Downtime, Staffing, Materials, Logistics and Human Resource requirements.
o Provide feedback to team on how to improve existing standards – adherence or process change.
· Meet production goals by identifying and acting on proactive & reactive actions regarding flow, labor, and priorities.
· Lead Production Supervisors to success with effective coaching, developing, and communication.
· Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
· Lead with a focus on quality, working closely with the quality team to meet standards. Consistently check products per company policy to ensure quality and customer satisfaction; resolves any identified problems and collaborate with the quality team.
· Implement systems of continuous improvement to maintain an organized system, optimize processes and methods to ensure maximum and steady output, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.
· Build and maintain effective visual communication systems to display metrics, cross training, feedback, quality issues, and other key messages.
· Provide leadership to ensure fair and consistent application of processes and procedures are administered across all shifts.
· Collaborate with maintenance on any immediate issues, scheduled down time, and equipment improvements.
· Communicate effectively across multiple shifts and functions.
· Serves as a champion & coach of quality, lean, and process improvements to promote a continuous learning environment.
· Responsible for daily and annual performance management across hourly team members and Production Supervisors.
· Supervise the production leadership teams, working daily with production leads.
· Understands and has a working knowledge of all job-related quality objectives, quality system policies, procedures, and instructions.
· Support plant layout changes and direct efficient flow in all departments through standard work for continuous improvement.
· Manage and drive improvements in scrap, labor, and other manufacturing costs.
· Enter/delegate entry of daily production numbers.
· Participate and assist with running the daily operations meeting.
· Provide daily feedback to team members on all performance measures and provide detailed shift pass down report to the next shift lead.
· Mentor and train team members on machine operations and production processes.
· Coordinate or request training as needed for team members with Area Leads and/or Maintenance teams.
· Operate various machines including a panel saw, edge bander, CNC, Venture and OMAL, as needed to support production.
· Ensure operators have the equipment they need to perform their job (i.e. PPE, Tools, Supplies)
· Manage team member reviews/evaluations, and disciplinary actions in partnership with HR as required.
· Maintain data in all software systems, cut pack report, and provide shift data when required.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.
· Ability to adhere to our attendance policy; regular and acceptable punctuality and attendance is required.
· Bachelor's Degree preferred; preferably Operations Management, Business, or other technical fields.
· Extensive experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment.
· Minimum of 10 years of experience supervising a production/manufacturing team.
· Will have a thorough knowledge of typical manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment, and cabinetry/furniture industry experience is a plus.
· Must have strong leadership skills, servant leadership coaching style, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
