๐ The Job Role
This is a full time role with site presence required, considering candidates within commuting distance or open to supported relocation. The role operates at the construction to commissioning interface on a major nuclear project. You will deliver hands-on commissioning of safety-classified instrumentation and control systems through to handover.
- Support construction and installation readiness for safety-classified I&C systems
- Review P&IDs, loop diagrams, datasheets, wiring and system documentation
- Verify as-built instrumentation, cabling, tubing and impulse lines against approved design
- Carry out and support inspection, calibration and loop readiness activities
- Identify defects, incomplete works and deviations under configuration control
- Execute loop checks, point-to-point testing and functional testing activities
- Interface with DCS, PLC and protection systems validating alarms and safety functions
- Support commissioning of pneumatic, hydraulic and motor-operated final elements
- Track commissioning progress and report system status to the Commissioning Manager
๐ Required Skills and Qualifications
Nuclear experience is not essential, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.

- Degree or HNC or HND in Instrumentation, Control or related discipline
- Strong knowledge of process instrumentation and measurement principles
- Hands-on experience calibrating industrial or safety-related instrumentation
- Experience interfacing field instrumentation with DCS or PLC systems
- Experience supporting commissioning of control valves and final elements
- Understanding of calibration tolerances, acceptance criteria and traceability
- Familiarity with commissioning work control, permits and quality processes
- Experience in nuclear, power generation, oil & gas or heavy industrial environments
