Job description

About the Role

At H3X https://www.h3x.tech/, we are building the most advanced electric motors in the world for sustainable aviation, marine, industrial, and defense applications. At 12 kW/kg continuous, the HPDM family of integrated motor drives is a step change in electric propulsion technology and removes one of the main barriers blocking widespread proliferation of electric and hybrid aircraft. Our motors range in size from 30 kW to 30 MW, include integrated drives, and are 3X lighter than competitors’ systems.

The Inventory Specialist is a critical operational role within H3X Technologies’ Supply Chain & Operations team. This individual will be responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of materials that directly support production and engineering operations. Beyond day-to-day execution, this role carries a meaningful ownership stake in inventory data accuracy and is expected to actively drive continuous improvement of inventory practices over time.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with inventory systems and physical material handling, takes pride in getting the details right, and approaches process gaps as problems to be solved rather than accepted. This role works closely with production planning, engineering, and quality teams and requires a high degree of reliability, organization, and professional communication.

Responsibilities

Cycle Counting & Inventory Accuracy

  • Own the full execution of structured weekly cycle counts across all assigned inventory locations.
  • Record, investigate, and reconcile physical count discrepancies against MES system data.
  • Maintain a running history of variance trends and escalate recurring or systemic discrepancies for resolution.
  • Accuracy of the inventory record is a primary responsibility of this role.

Kitting & Production Support

  • Pick, kit, and stage materials for production orders and engineering builds in accordance with production plans.
  • Ensure kits and line-side inventory are complete, accurate, and on schedule.
  • Proactively communicate material shortages or readiness risks to production planning to prevent build delays.

Inventory Operations & Material Flow

  • Receive, replenish, and fulfill raw materials, parts, and hardware to support production and shop operations.
  • Stock and organize materials in designated locations — bins, drawers, racks, and line-side areas — maintaining accurate placement and proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) at all times.
  • Move and redistribute inventory to improve organization and material flow efficiency as operations evolve.

Receiving & Material Verification

  • Verify all incoming material for conformity with documentation, including part numbers, revisions, quantities, condition, and traceability requirements.
  • Execute accurate MES (Manufacturo) transactions for receipts, issues, and transfers in a timely manner.
  • Support purchasing and material planning activities, including demand signal communication and shortage identification.

MES Data Integrity

  • Administer and maintain accurate inventory data in Manufacturo, including all transactions, work order issues, receipts, and inventory adjustments.
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies promptly and escalate systemic issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support physical inventory and audit activities as required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Actively contribute to the ongoing improvement of inventory practices, including count methodology, storage layout, kitting processes, and material flow.
  • This role is expected to not only execute current processes but to identify what is not working and bring forward actionable solutions.
  • Execute special projects including layout optimization, kitting improvements, and process standardization as a regular part of the role.
  • Support organizational metrics and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function.

Compliance & Safety

  • Abide by all safety policies, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements without exception.
  • Maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with documented procedures and quality requirements, including shelf-life monitoring.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of inventory control experience in a warehouse , warehousing, materials handling, or supply chain role.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret part documentation, including part numbers, revision levels, and traceability records.
  • Organized, self-directed, and reliable — able to manage recurring responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and operating material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing ERP or MES systems for inventory transactions and data management (Preferably Manufacturo)
  • Familiarity with FIFO/FEFO inventory control and shelf-life management practices.
  • Experience supporting cycle count programs and discrepancy investigation.
  • Background in a precision manufacturing, aerospace, or electronics production environment.
  • Forklift or standing lift certified and demonstrate competence with other inventory-related machinery
  • Experience with hazmat material practices and protocol

Benefits & Compensation

  • Hourly Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 / hour
  • Employee equity incentive plan
  • Health insurance: medical, vision, dental, ST & LT disability, and life
  • Gym membership stipend (up to $60/month)
  • Outdoor Recreation Reimbursement ($900 annual maximum)
  • Flexible hours (deliverable-based goals)
  • PTO Policy (80 hours per 2000 hours, accrued per hour, PTO can be taken by the hour)
  • Monthly company events
  • 401k program
