How you'll make an impact Open opportunity for an Accounting Manager within the Global Transaction and Acquisition Accounting team of the US Accounting Center of Excellence based in Rolling Meadows, IL. The Manager will be responsible for accounting coordination and oversight of all global transactions and acquisitions to ensure that results are properly controlled and in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The Manager will be part of the US Accounting Center of Excellence and will report directly to the Assistant Corporate Controller. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and review the work of a two-member team to complete all month-end close responsibilities and deliverables Partner with stakeholders across our global Corporate structure (Tax, Treasury, Finance, Legal, etc.) to understand and account for complex, multi-step transactions Oversee the global legal entity rationalization program, identifying entities to eliminate and executing on wind-down accounting Assist to review acquisition accounting entries for stock and asset purchases Manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate cross-functionally to meet strict project execution deadlines Resolve complex finance and accounting problems and ease workloads during periods of peak volume. Investigate and resolve data quality issues and reporting discrepancies Provide support for internal and external audits including control walkthroughs, documentation support and inquiry response About You Required: Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience required. Requires broad general accounting knowledge, including FASB and GAAP regulations. Requires in-depth knowledge of the insurance brokerage business. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Minimum 6 years related experience Excellent verbal, written, computer, financial data, internal consulting, and customer-focused communication and presentation skills Strong organizational skills with proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities Good working knowledge of accounting standards, account reconciliations, and month end close experience Proficient with Microsoft suite of products; Advanced level skills in Excel Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with precise detail and follow-up reporting Experience with M&A and cross-border transactions Public company audit or accounting experience Prior experience managing teams / personnel Compensation and benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position.
