Job description
Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Estimator to support estimating and cost management services for a high-profile client within a large-scale, for data centre construction programme in Spain.
The candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate cost estimates across project lifecycles, supporting tendering activities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust commercial outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed construction estimates and cost plans across all project stages, including concept, schematic, design development, and detailed design
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost validations for complex, multi-package scopes
- Support bid reviews by analysing contractor proposals, conducting comparisons, and making recommendations
- Contribute to benchmarking by maintaining and applying cost data and historical metrics across the programme
- Participate in value engineering workshops and identify cost optimisation opportunities
- Support feasibility studies and early-stage cost modelling
- Maintain clear communication with clients, contractors, and design teams regarding scope, assumptions, and estimate basis
- Assist in the preparation of procurement and tender documentation
- Support procurement activities, including prequalification, bid list development, bid analysis, tender reporting, and contract documentation
- Collaborate with internal cost management teams to align estimating, procurement, and programme cost planning
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls where applicable
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- +5 years’ experience in cost estimating for large-scale construction projects
- Experience in Data centres
- Strong understanding of cost estimating principles, quantity take-offs, and building systems
- Familiarity with CSA scopes; exposure to MEP costs is advantageous
- Knowledge of procurement strategies and contract structures
- Experience supporting value engineering, feasibility studies, or cost optimisation initiatives
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including client-facing abilities
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with tools such as AutoCAD or Navisworks is preferred
- Fluent in English and Spanish
