Job description

The Database Marketing Specialist is responsible for data enrichment of our marketable audience. As part of the database team, you will utilize industry-leading sources to acquire new data for attendee and sponsorship profiles, while ensuring our existing database is accurate and clean. In addition to maintaining a best-in-class database, you will support marketing and sales teams with audience development and analytical reviews.  

 

What you will do:

Database development

  • Maintain a clean and up-to-date database
    • Analyze dataset to identify outdated or incorrect data
    • Plan and implement processes to push updates to the database on an ongoing basis
    • Identify and close data gaps on lead, contact and account profiles
    • Dedupe/merge duplicate lead, contact and account records
  • Strategically acquire & validate data per business objectives
  • Execute and maintain automated workflows for data normalization
  • Develop and maintain reporting on database health and data clean-up projects
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of data quality rules and metrics, and identify database deficiencies through data profiling and data exploration

Audience development

  • Maintain data hygiene & audience enrichment for community outreach campaigns
  • Develop an understanding of the integrated data view of a community member, including all data sources and the current and future state of the Customer Data Profile

Organizational support

  • Train community and sales team stakeholders in pipeline building, data hygiene and reporting best practices
  • Develop a deep understanding of community requirements
  • Build and nurture partnerships with Sales team to best support community growth and engagement
  • Use knowledge of community requirements to monitor requests for additions and updates to the database from organizational partners

Team development

  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Develop documentation and training materials for marketing database team and organizational partners
  • Provide thoughtful and innovative feedback for continuous process and quality improvement

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
  • 3+ years applicable experience
  • Demonstrated experience with customer databases via portfolio, work experience or education
  • Demonstrated experience with data acquisition, mining, cleansing, de-duping, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and using pivot tables and advanced formulas
  • Experience with data automation and analytics software (SQL, Alteryx and PowerBI preferred)
  • Understanding of data modeling and relational database management
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, experience working cross-functionally
  • Self-motivated and deadline-driven
  • Strong attention to detail

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 56,000 USD - 78,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates. We also offer market leading benefit programs including generous PTO, a 401k match up to $7,200 per year, the opportunity to purchase company stock at a discount, and more.
